Josiah Bartlett

Research Notes:

Josiah Bartlett (1729-1795) was a distinguished American patriot. He was a signer of the Declaration of Independence and of the Articles of Confederation from New Hampshire, a distinguished physician, founder of the New Hampshire Medical Society, a Colonel of the Militia, Chief Justice of the New Hampshire Supreme Court, President of New Hampshire and after the name change for the state's chief executive office, the first governor of the State of New Hampshire.

She had made her home in Sumner for the last 25 years after living her earlier years in Tacoma, Anchorage, AK and Ballard. Phyllis waspreceded in death by her husband, George Albrightson; her sister, Alda Livermore; and her brother, Phillip Caulfield. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Reeves Reno of Sumner; step-daughter, Caroline (James) Johnson of Lago Vista,TX; granddaughter, Cheryl (Robert) Usher of Sumner; grandsons, Donald (Lynane)Reeves, Jr. of Marysville and Martin (special lady Wilma Ferguson) Reeves of Conway; step-granddaughter, Wendy (Doug) Freund of Woodinville; step-grandson, Mark (Sherry) Wilson of Lafayette, LA; 5 great-grandchildren, Jaimee, Jason, Nichole, Conner, and Tyler; sister, Marcia Baker of Anchorage, AK; brother, Richard (Ariel) Caulfield of Pahrump, NV; and sister, Wyona Elison of Puyallup. Phyllis was a retired florist, owner of her own shop, Fircrest Flowers, in Fircrest,WA. She instilled her love of flowers in her family who will always remember her with this gift. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmotherwho treasured her family, felt blessed with their accomplishments, and enjoyedher time spent with "Charlie", a little black poodle. BIOGRAPHY: In 1826, Jacob and Hannah moved to Putnam Co., Indiana. The Ladoga Church of the Brethren was organized soon after. Jacob was elected a deacon in 1829. He arrived in Cedar Co., Missouri, sometime in 1857. He was enumerated in the 1860 census, sharing a household with "Emma - 68 years old." Some think this is Jacob's third wife. Also in the enumeration was an infant, "Nacy" Davis, possibly a grand child.
